Truck and Tractor Pull Excitement at Elmvale Fall Fair
Tractor pulling is competitive motorsport where modified farm tractors, modified tractors drag a metal sled along a predetermined course. Inside the sled is a box filled with weights mechanically winched forward as the sled progresses along the track. Pulling this ever-increasing load causes the vehicle to lose forward momentum due to the resistance of the weights. , Reaching the end of the course, known as a “full pull”. The distance of the track, from start to finish, is measured in thousandths of an inch. The tractor that pulls a sled farthest is declared the winner. A pull-off occurs to determine a winner if more than one competitor reaches the full pull mark. Pull-offs offer some of the most exciting battles in motorsports, pitting the top-performing competitors against each other in a “winner takes all” finale!
