The Elmvale Fall Fair Ambassador Competition will be held on October 9th, 2020 and we hope that you support this incredible opportunity for our community’s young leaders.
Being an Ambassador is one of the most rewarding leadership opportunities for rural youth and this program will work to further the opportunities for our youth.
Each contestant participating in the program on October 4th will experience and participate in workshops from qualified speakers as well as the interview process, speech and impromptu question that make up the competition portion of the program, culminating in the awarding of the 2019 Elmvale Fall Fair Ambassador.

Elmvale Fall Fair Ambassador Program Coordinators
Eligibility: This contest is open to males and females , 15 years of age and older
Judging: A date and time is set for an evening, a few days prior to the Fair. Each contestant will enjoy a dinner together and then have an interview with the panel of judges. At the Fair during the Friday night variety show the contestants will introduce themselves, answer an impromptu question and deliver a 3-5 mins speech on a topic of their choice.
The Ambassador and Runner-ups will be announced Friday evening and will be able to enjoy the fun filled day at the fair on Saturday, which includes riding in the parade, bringing greetings and attending other fair or agricultural events.
Duties:The Senior Fall Fair Ambassador will attend a number of events , representing the Flos Agricultural Society following the fair. The list includes, but not limited to the OAAS District 5 Meeting in November , followed by participation in the Elmvale Santa Claus Parade, and attend the 3 day Provincial OAAS Conference in Toronto in February, as well as compete in the CNE Ambassador of the Fair’s Competition in August (must be 18 years of age by August 1 to be eligible).

Each contestant will receive $50.00 for entering the contest.
Eligibility: Open to Males and Females in grade 7 and 8.
Judging: A date and time will be set for an evening, a few days prior to the Fair. Each contestant will enjoy a dinner together and then have an interview with the panel of judges. Contestants will be judged on personality, communication skills, their personal introduction, their creativity (flag or banner to display at Friday evening Variety Night), community involvement and give a 2 minute speech about an aspect of the fair.
Duties: The Junior Ambassador will be required to be available during the fair weekend to assist the Senior Fair Ambassador The Junior Ambassador will attend a few functions with the Senior Fair Ambassador representing the Flos Agricultural Society.
Prizes: Jr Ambassador $150.00
1st Runner Up $100.00
2nd Runner Up $50.00
Each contestant will receive $25.00 for participating in the contest.
The Flos Agricultural Society awards two bursaries, $250.00 each, to two graduating students who are continuing their education and who have demonstrated volunteerism relating to the Flos Agricultural Society aka Elmvale Fall Fair. The Applicants will complete a short questionnaire related to their contribution to the Society, which will be reviewed by the Bursary Committee , prior to selecting the winning recipients. All applications are to be received by the Flos Agricultural Society no later than May 25,2020.
